编译者述：如果你和I一样才刚开始读奇幻小说的龙枪系列，面对浩如烟海的龙枪小说，一定是不知道应该先看哪本才好的。在一个非官方的龙枪站点中I找到了这篇文章，想来不会是别无用处的。文章中书籍的译名绝大部分采用紫晶在《龙枪系列书目一览》中的译名，个别I认为欠妥的则按己意杜撰。书籍的作者则不译成中文。

New to the Dragonlance® Series? Want to know where to start reading? Below is my personal recommendation on what order to read the novels. It's difficult to find them in libraries, so I would recommend buying them from a bookstore.
对龙枪系列毫无认识？想知道从哪本开始阅读？下面就是我个人推荐的龙枪小说阅读顺序。图书馆里难以找到了，所以我还是建议从书店里购买吧。（美国情况，大陆别说图书馆，书店也不会有。）
The list to the right is the condensed version of this document, which simply lists all the books in the order that I would recommend you read them. A more detailed explanation is provided below. In addition, the explanation mentions other books and series of books that are certainly worth reading that are not part of the central storyline by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman.
右边的列表便是本文的压缩版本，只是简单的列出我个人建议的阅读顺序。下面会详细的分析。另外，分析中会提到其他同样值得阅读的单本和系列书籍，但却并不契合Margaret Weis和Tracy Hickman两位作者的中心故事线。

Begin with the Chronicles series. This is the first set of books written about the Dragonlance world, and will give you the foundation for everything afterward. Chronicles introduce you to the major gods, some of the most important characters, and introduce important events and groups of people that other books assume you already know about. The Chronicles novels are:

Next, read the Legends series. In addition to being the second series written, this series explores the relationship between Raistlin and Caramon, and also introduces the reader to more detail about the Cataclysm and the events immediately before and after it. Like the Chronicles, other books assume that you know what happened in the Legends series, so this is a must read.

While the Raistlin Chronicles actually take place before both Chronicles and Legends, they may spoil some of the material in these two main series if read first. Additionally, since they were written afterward, it's probably best to hold off until you've read Chronicles and Legends. In any event, if you're interested in Raistlin and Caramon, these should be next on your list.

After the Chronicles and Legends series, the reading order gets a bit muddy. The Tales series is a collection of short stories, which provide some more depth for the setting. The Preludes and The Meetings Sextet also fit in here; Preludes discusses the journeys of the companions prior to the War of the Lance (the 5 years before Chronicles), and the Meetings Sextet explores the youth of the companions. Some fans discount these two series as non-canon (i.e. not true to the Weis-Hickman storyline). Regardless, I would recommend picking up the Heroes series; both The Legend of Huma and Kaz, the Minotaur (both by Richard Knaak) are excellent.

If you can find them, I'd recommend both the Elven Nations and Dwarven Nations, which give an account of the histories of these two races. Defenders of Magic is also a good series by Mary Kirchoff. If you want more information on the villains of the War of the Lance, then try the Villains series.

Now, to the Fifth Age. Before reading any of the novels that are specifically fifth age, you really must read both The Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame. The Second Generation gives the reader necessary background information on the children of the Heroes of the Lance, who the reader will meet in greater detail in Dragons of Summer Flame. Read The Second Generation first, then move on to Dragons of Summer Flame, which takes place 30 years after the original novels and sets the stage for all of the novels that take place in the Fifth Age.

The Fifth Age books begin here. Start by reading Jean Rabe's trilogy, Dragons of a New Age. Again, some fans disagree with the direction explored in this non-Weis-Hickman trilogy, but it is a good foundation for what happens in the Fifth Age of Krynn, and I found it to be a pretty decent read.
第五纪年的书籍则有如下建议。先从Jean Rabe的三部曲《新时代之巨龙》开始。虽然不少龙枪爱好者不认同这套非Weis-Hickman原创的三部曲中探讨的方向，但对于今后在克莱恩大陆第五纪年里发生的事情却是很好的基础读物，个人感受嘛，也算是不错的选择。
The books in the Chaos War and Bridges of Time series come next and, like the Heroes and Preludes series, they give more background on the 5th age world. Whether or not to read them is up to you. In addition, you may want to read the three Tales of the Fifth Age anthologies, which are very much like the original Tales series.

Finally, the new War of Souls series is supposed to drastically change things on Krynn once again. The three books should be read in order, of course, but they are prerequisites to anything that may follow after they are released!
