This and "Illithid" were done for two separate companies, but for products intended to sit side-by-side on a shelf. The Drow are the dark elves of the Underdark, the subterranean world of the Forgotten Realms. I see these three as a border patrol, who have just dealt with interlopers.
The thumbnail on the far right takes you to a frame that shows how the two pieces might look side-by-side on a shelf. When together, you can see that the Drow must occasionally pay tribute to other denizens of the underworld…
