Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition正式宣布

倒计时数到0的时候,WOTC的服务器彻底被挤爆
不过其它网站上的消息倒是跟到了
稍后补充详细的

4E的研发从2005年开始,2006年完成大部分,2008年夏天发售
PHB 5月,MM 6月,DMG 7月
今年12月会先发两个预览,明年4月发一个quickstart模组
FR会最先跟进,8月发布4版FRCS

同时开放DnDInsider,一个WOTC的收费在线跑团网站
OGL继续实行
3R产品线在4E发售前不会停止
Saga Edition和九剑是4E的测试产品

1. Characters will go to 30 levels in the PHB rather than 20.

2. There will be racial levels ala Savage Species.

3. Talent trees will be used.

4. Fighters will play differently based on their primary weapon choice.
Examples include swords being allowed to make multiple attacks at lower levels
(3rd at highest), hammers being more effective based on Con score, and spears
being able to "go past AC" (probably ignoring certain types of AC bonuses).

5. Book of 9 Swords-style maneuvers and stances will be in core, most likely
for fighters.

6. Psionics seem likely to be core, although they'll most likely be a different
flavor of magic. This would indicate that psionics and magic will use the same
mechanics.
NOT confirmed. The psion in the playtest report was a wizard because they
didn't have psionics worked out yet.

7. There will be some kind of power management. That is something about not
having wizards useless after spells or making the party grind to a halt once
the cleric is out of healing spells

你把现在的feat tree稍微变化下就可以得到talent tree了。只是把这些feat都加上种族或者职业的前提条件。

当然,这是我美好的愿望……

talent tree已经用了好久了。d20 modern还有starwars saga都是这样的一套架构。大致就是职业变成了泛型,职业特性都变成了2级获得一个的talent。每个职业有几个talent tree,后面的talent都会以前面的talent为前提条件。于是野蛮人战士就合成了一个职业的两个不同的talent tree。全爬野蛮人tree的就是野蛮人,全爬战士tree的就是战士,两边都爬的就是兼职……类似这样,嗯

This new edition will stick with the d20 system, but the designers see many elements that can be improved. One big emphasis has been on streamlining turns to help the game get around the table a bit quicker; they know there's nothing the rules can do to keep a party's mage and barbarian from wasting 15 minutes screaming over tactics at the start of every combat, but at least [color=red]they can get you out of grappling details a bit faster[/color]. In essence, what you're going to see mechanically is the d20 system evolved: rebuilding the clunky parts, greasing the wheels and polishing the chrome until you can see your character in it. Part of that polishing includes ramping up the coolness factor on some of the less-popular character classes to make sure that every class has a unique and essential role in a well-balanced party; you might see [color=red]some of the traditional classes fall out of the base book in favor of sexier roles[/color]. The same thing will happen to the races covered in the core books, where [color=red]the half-demon tieflings will claim a place at the expense of an undisclosed race--we're guessing a half-elf, gnome and halfling[/color] were shut up in a dark cave with some paring knives, and no questions were asked of whoever came out...heck, there might even be three new races in the new edition! Not to worry; Slavicsek promises that [color=red]any beloved races cut from the core books will appear in early Fourth Edition expansions[/color].
