A light on the water all souls pass 这里我的理解是：all Souls pass是修饰the water的，这里的the water指sundering sea。根据托老的设定，灵魂在肉体死后都要来到Hall of Mandos，因此在中土的亡魂必须飘洋过海前去。 一星光芒 闪耀在亡魂必经之水上

多谢楼上水支和Lothlorien的指教啊。 看来这段歌词就是描写frodo远远的感觉到的西方世界的芬芳，听到的美丽的音乐吧。 那这个“light”应该不是真正的"light"吧？是frodo感觉到远方的那音乐，好像雨雾中微弱的光线。呵呵，不知道对不对，这最后一段书，看起来真像诗歌。
