Call of Cthulhu是Lovecraft著名的恐怖小说，可以说启发和奠定了一代恐怖小说风格，文章并不长，是比较好阅读的。<br><br>故事主要讲主角从死去的叔叔那里了解到Cthulhu这种神秘的存在，进而作了很多调查，最后得知Cthulhu是远古从其他星星而来的The Greart Old Ones之一，是一个强大的祭司，他们存在于人类之前，并在人类出现前“死去”，他们其实只是在等待时机的到来再次苏醒，Cthulhu通过人类的梦境，告诉人类他的存在，并可以控制人类杀死那些知道太多或者想知道太多的人，当The Greart Old Ones再次降临人间，将摧毁一切善恶，黑白的标准，他们将教导人类更自由地享受生命，杀戮等等。在书中他提到几种Cthulhu存在的根据，其中一个据说是死者之书曾经提及。<br><br>Lovecraft的小说建立了Cthulhu神话系统，至今还有作者在这套神话系统上创作，甚至可以说这套神话系统是很多人的努力完善成果。<br><br>赞美寻查师海豹同学，找到了这个非常好的网站：<a href='http://www.gizmology.net/lovecraft/works/index.htm' target='_blank'>The H.
